Have you ever seen those bright yellow signs, “We Buy Houses?”

I used to ask myself if it was some kind of scam. And if it were a legit business who would use that kind of advertising?  A few years ago I decided to get into real estate  and quickly realized those bright yellow signs were investors looking to buy property.

So do people really call those numbers on the “We Buy Houses” bandit signs?

Turns out lots of people do. For example, I received a phone call a few weeks before Christmas and the person on the phone asked if I buy houses with cash?  He was in town for a few days visiting family and was also checking up on his rental property. He tired to sell it with a real estate agent and all he had accomplished was upsetting the tenant every time there was someone wanting the view the property. When he saw my sign he thought the same thing I used to think, is this legit? What would the Better Business Bureau have to say about that company?

We talked on the phone about his price expectation and I agreed that based on the condition he was describing I felt like I could help. We wrapped up the purchase two weeks after seeing the property and he was thrilled. He mentioned that he should have called months ago and couldn’t believe how simple it was to do business with me.
